Search in document libraryMānuka and kānuka are fast-growing, robust plants ubiquitous in scrub, shrublands and forest margins throughout the North Island, and thrive in almost all land types from geothermal areas and wetlands, to dunes and dry hill slopes. While mānuka is the smaller and shorter lived of the two, both will ultimately be overtaken by native forest after fulfilling their role as a colonising plant.
