Search in document libraryThe conservation status of the native bird species in the Wellington region has been assessed by an expert panel. Forty-three bird species were identified as being Regionally Threatened and six as being Regionally At Risk. The high proportion of Regionally Threatened species (61%) highlights the vulnerability of indigenous species to the impacts of pests and habitat loss.
